KCSM archive failure

Tom, would you like to try using our HEAACv2 stream for the archive?

Can we characterize the failure?

How do you expect HE-AAC v2 to help in the failure?

Hello Tom,

Re: AAC. You mentioned you were going to transcode KNON stream to AAC to investigate an issue. I wanted to let you know KCSM has an HE-AAC v2 stream if you wanted to use it.

I’m not sure what “characterize” means in this case.

We are still getting complaints about the archive player. I previously posted time/date of archive player failure that a listener pointed out. 1/2/2022 at 2:00 PM. I believe you tested and had no issues. I tested today using four different devices. Here are the results.

My findings using:

  • HP Z220 Desktop Computer Windows 10 (20H2)
  • Chrome browser: Player stops at 2:04:59
  • Edge browser: Player stops at 2:04:59
  • Opera browser: Player stops at 2:04:59
  • Firefox browser: Player does not stop, however there is an audible “chirp” between 4:59 and 5:00
