Best way to configure a show with two regularly scheduled lengths

We have a couple of monthly scheduled shows that ā€˜preemptā€™ our regular schedule. Normally not a problem with Spinitronā€™s advanced scheduling, but one of our shows preempt portions of two shows. e.g. Regular show #1 at 9-11 and Regular show #2 at 11-1, with the preempting show from 10 to 12. We are thinking of creating a new Regular show #1 with a 1 hour duration by using the same name as the current Regular show #1 but with a period at the end of the name: ā€œRegular show #1.ā€ We are aware of the playlist implications and are fine with that. 1- Will this work? Will Spinitron consider the two names different? 2- Is there a better way to do this?

Spinitron will keep distinct shows separate even if they have the same name. We use unique Show IDs to keep track of shows, they are the numeric part in the web pageā€™s URL, e.g. 165240 in

spinitron.com/WFHB/show/165240/Stuck-In-The-Psychedelic-Era

You donā€™t need to worry about these IDs, just to understand that each distinct show has its own public web page, which includes the list the showā€™s playlists.

Possibly. There are two ways to ā€œpreemptā€ in the schedule displays.

One is to assign one-off, i.e. non-repeating, schedules to the preempting show. A one-off episode of a show overlays (displaces, obscures, preemptsā€¦?) repeating episodes of shows with overlapping time slots.

Alternatively can also create what we call future public playlists. Create a post-dated playlist and check the checkbox to make it display on the program schedule. This has a similar effect of overlaying episodes of shows in schedule displays.
